I. No. 6 in A Minor, Lucklaran

Description:
The initial melody is playful, even lucky perhaps? The second section is more bold and serious. Note that the entire tune is basically two ascending sequences. The first sequence is i-V--III-VII--iv-i (where each instance of the sequence is separated by two dashes), which is an ascending sequence of 5ths. The second chord in each instance is not explicitly expressed by the accompaniment; instead they are all implied by the last instance note of the melody. A surprise landing on A Major separates the two sequences. The second sequence is iv-VII--v-i--VI-ii(dim), which is an ascending sequence of 4ths. The ending section dwells for an extended period on VII, and even resolves briefly to the relative major before transitioning to the the true dominant V chord which eventually leads us back to the tonic. It is indeed a piece written in minor key despite the name.
