To find the castle, take a boat to the east and then follow the river north to the source. Travel directly north from the river and you might see a small forest in the broken lands. Travel into the heart of the forest and you will come across an ancient castle sunken into the swamp. The entire castle is in an anti-magic field, so you won’t be able to rely on magical healing or offensive spells in combat.
Inside the ruined walls are many ruined buildings. If the party enters one of these ruins they may encounter an old lizardman with his hand raised in a gesture of peace. If you speak to him and give him the password from journal entry 35, he will relate journal entry 31 to you. Shortly thereafter, the upstart he referred to will appear and challenge the old lizardman. The old lizardman will ask you to champion him against Drythh. If you refuse, the combat will be short and Drythh will then turn his followers against you. If you agree, the battle will be easy and over quickly. The old lizardman, having regained control of his tribe, will not allow them to ally with Tyranthraxus. Your job being finished here, you can now return to the city and claim your reward.
If you descend any of the tunnels or stairs to the level beneath the castle you will immediately be attacked by giant lizards. There are also several deep pools of water that hide lizardmen with javelins. You will be given the opportunity to enter the pool and search, but if you attempt to do so before you defeat the lizardmen in that pool, you may get badly hurt by them while underwater.
